CEO Nancy Hagen and President Peggy Daniels take great pride in supplying their Superior Sample Co. clients with the best products and services.



Nancy Hagen, CEO, grew up with Superior Sample Company.  Sweeping floors and cleaning rest rooms at a very early age led to working in the plant in all phases of production, sales management and eventually administration.  In 1982, Nancy officially became a proprietor of Superior Sample Company with her father, Rex Hagen, the founder of the company.  In 2006, Nancy and Peggy purchased the company from Rex.  Nancy holds a BS degree from Purdue University and a Masters degree from Ball State University.


President & Co-owner

Peggy began her career with Superior Sample Company in 1973, while in high school.  In 1976 she became full time, holding various jobs in the office, including Office Manager and Vice President.  She and Nancy purchased the business from Rex Hagen in 2006, appointing Peggy the designation of President and co-owner.  She continues to be a pillar in the community, serving the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce, Ligonier Rotary, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Church.

General Manager

Cole represents the third generation of this family owned business.  Following in his grandfather Rex Hagen,  and his mother Nancy Hagen’s footsteps; he has been raised to understand this “niche” business and is a natural.  Cole’s responsibilities encompass every area of the business from sales and service to production and delivery.  Cole’s ultimate goal is customer satisfaction by giving clients timely delivery of high quality products at an efficient price.

Joy started her career with Superior Sample Company in 2010, bringing with her 15 years of Business to Business Sales Experience.  She has strong family ties to the company, beginning at an early age.  Her focus is customer service, attention to detail and following through with customer's expectations.  While playing a strong role in the community, she has served on boards for United Way, the Women's Bureau, Junior Achievement and the Active 20-30 Club of Fort Wayne.  She holds a degree in Marketing and Public Relations from Ball State University.

Denise has been with Superior Sample Co. since 1988 in customer service, office management & production managament.



Denise Williams started her career with Superior Sample Company in 1988 working in customer service and office management.  In her current position, her responsibilities range from purchasing and estimating to working closely with customer service and sales to coordinate efficient production of quality samples in a timely manner.  She holds a BS from Purdue University and an MBA from Bethel College.

DeWayne has been with Superior Sample Co. since 1981.   He had a short 3 year hiatus to work in the mission field, but returned in 2010.



DeWayne started working at Superior Sample Company November of 1981 and worked for 25 years.  He worked up to Supervisor and eventually Production Manager.  Then in January of 2007 He left to go to the mission field.  He came back in February of 2010 as a supervisor and is now Production Manager again.  He is involved in his church and spending time with family.

After holding numerous office positions starting in 1984, Angie Lortie has been the Customer Service & Estimator for the past 17 years.


CUSTOMER SERVICE & production coordinator

Angie started her career with Superior Sample Company in 1984.  She has held several roles including payroll, administration and estimating.  The majority of her time with the company and current role is in Customer Service.  She is very passionate about anything she throws herself into.  Her attention to detail and creative capabilities are a huge asset to our clients.  She is also very active in our community.  Some of the organizations she has worked with include United Way, Junior Achievement, Tri-Kappa, American Legion Auxiliary, Relay for Life, and her Church.

Starting in 1984, Deb Freel has worked various jobs in production and supervising the printing department.  She now works in customer service.



Deb started her career with Superior Sample Company in 1984.  Her experience comes from working various jobs in production, helping with administrative needs , supervising the printing department and being a liaison for customer service .  She currently plays a large role in Customer Service and is one of the first points of contacts for the majority of new clients.  Customer satisfaction is her number one priority.

Jenny Smith joined the Superior Sample team in 2009 assisting with typesetting and also adds great value as a customer service rep.



Jenny joined the Superior Sample Company team in January of 2009.  She started her career assisting with typesetting in the Graphics Department.  She is currently  in Customer Service and also uses her skill set to assist our graphics department when needed.  As various projects arise, she enjoys contributing to their organization and development.  She uses a comprehensive approach and is result driven as she guides customers through the evolution of their projects from start to finish.  Jenny holds a BA degree from Purdue University.

Glenna Hagerman started in production back in 1988.  One year later she joined the graphics department where she has been ever since.



Glenna began her career with Superior Sample Company in 1988.  She started in production and quickly moved into our Graphics Department.  The majority of her time is invested in evaluating customer art files to assure they are production compatible.  She also spends her time typesetting, proofreading, key lining, prepping files for the Printer and reviewing Printer Proofs.  High regard is given to each job, while placing extensive emphasis on every detail, working closely with customer service and the production manager to achieve a “superior” product that meets the customer’s expectations.  Glenna is also very involved in our community and her church.  She has led several of our annual Christmas drives, benefiting individual families and the West Noble Food Pantry.  She was also voted L.E.A.P. volunteer of the year.

After coming home from mission work in 2010, Marsha Patrick joined the Superior Sample team.

Marsha began her career with Superior Sample Company in March of 2010. She has had several responsibilities including working in production, sewing, cutting, quality control, payroll and being the lead Administrative assistant.  Currently, she spends the majority of her time making sure customer art files are compatible with our production process.  Her attention to detail and patient nature are a huge benefit for our clients.  She is very involved in her church and has traveled internationally with the World Gospel Mission donating her time to worthy causes.

After coming home from mission work in 2010, Marsha Patrick joined the Superior Sample team.

Patty Mata

Administrative assistant

Patty joined Superior Sample Company in 2015.  Her primary role is Administrative Assistant.  She answers phones, works with HR and payroll and also helps in production.  Her previous experience at Head Start (CANI) Community Action over Northeast Indiana being a teacher’s assistant is a huge asset she brings with her.  She was able to help families and children with translation and comprehension of important documents.  Her energy and dedication to everything she does shows through in her strong ties in the community. She also volunteers at several sporting events and keeps busy with her family.
